„Ich bin müde, trotzdem ich gehe ins Kino.“ — a huge number of German learners say this. The word is right, but the verb is in the wrong slot. The good news: obwohl and trotzdem are not new grammar. It is the same machine as part 2 (weil / deshalb) — only the logic is reversed: • weil → obwohl: subordinate clause, the verb goes to the end • deshalb → trotzdem: slot 1, the verb stays in slot 2 • wenn: the condition, the verb goes to the end Plus the classic trap: „Wenn ich ein Kind war“ is wrong — a single event in the past always takes „Als ich ein Kind war“. "Ich bleibe zu Hause, weil ich bin krank." sounds normal — but it's wrong. After "weil" the verb slides to the end of the clause. In this A2/B1 lesson you connect ONE reason with THREE connectors, and the split-slider shows you exactly where the verb goes: • weil → sub-clause: the verb goes right to the end. …, weil es regnet. • deshalb → position 1: the verb comes right after it. "Ich fahre ab." sounds right — but it's often wrong. This A2/B1 lesson teaches the German separable verbs with the prefix "ab-" through a short farewell story: departure day, moving out, and the last day at the office. The split-slider shows EXACTLY where the "ab" goes: • Main clause: Der Zug fährt um 8 Uhr ab. • Perfekt: Ich habe dich abgeholt.
