Lea, I am blue! Stop, Leo. That means: you are drunk! Oh! I mean: My sweater is blue. Exactly. We are talking about clothes, not beer. Today you will learn colors, clothing, and shop phrases. Four colors are enough for our small story: red, blue, green, and yellow. Say them with me: red, blue, green, yellow. The T-shirt is red. The jacket is blue. The scarf is green. Can you hear it? Der Schal. The hat is yellow. Great. First the article, then the word, then the color. Leo needs an outfit. First: der Pullover. Plural: die Pullover. That is easy. Then he sees a jacket. Die Jacke, die Jacken. And a scarf: der Schal. Finally, he needs shoes. Always plural: die Schuhe. In the shop Leo says: Die Jacke ist blau. Here the color comes after ist. Therefore: blau, with no ending. Then he points at the item: Ich nehme die blaue Jacke. Now the color is before Jacke. So it gets an e: blau-e. And rosa and lila? They stay the same: das rosa Kleid, der lila Schal. Leo sees the blue jacket. He asks: Kann ich die blaue Jacke anprobieren? Anprobieren means to try something on in a shop. The sales assistant asks: Welche Größe haben Sie? Leo answers: Größe M, bitte. The jacket fits. Lea says: Das steht dir gut! That means: It looks good on you. On Saturday Leo has a party. He stands in front of his wardrobe and thinks: I have nothing to wear. We all know that. But Leo has learned four useful words. He takes the blue sweater. Then he sees the blue jacket. Hear the difference: der blaue Pullover, die blaue Jacke. In the shop Leo tries on the jacket. It fits perfectly. He adds a yellow scarf. Not too colorful, just clear and friendly. The sales assistant says: Das steht dir gut. Leo smiles and says: Ich nehme die blaue Jacke. Done. A small story, real sentences, and no chaos. Quick check. Die Jacke ist ... Blau. After ist: no ending. Ich nehme die ... Jacke. Blaue. Before the noun: plus e. And anprobieren? To try on in a shop. Perfect! Today you learned colors and clothing with a real mini story. Remember: Die Jacke ist blau. But: die blaue Jacke. And when something looks good, you say: Das steht dir gut! See you in the next lesson. Bye!
